Top 12 of 2012 - Part 2

Hey All  -

Since 2012 recently came to an end, I thought I would talk about my top 12 products I loved from 2012. This ended up being quite hard to narrow down but I did it. Most of the items I discovered in 2012 but there are a few that have been favorites for a while!

7. Sheer Cover Duo Concealer. Mine is in Light/Medium. I received this in a subscription service I used to get. As you can see it's very well loved. I used this throughout the entire summer when I didn't want to wear a full foundation. I used it to just cover up the redness on my face as well as any other things I wanted to hide and call it a day! This stuff covers really well and lasts on the skin. The formula is really creamy and blendable. I usually would mix both colors together but that light color really worked well for me. I was looking around to find out where this can be purchased and after they responded to my tweet, told me that the concealer can be found only by calling a number. Not sure I will be going through that hassle to buy this again. Even though I do love it!  (Sorry, as you can see it's well loved as the packaging is all dirty)

8. Benefit Coralista Blush. I love this stuff so much!! I love coral blushes in general but this one is awesome. I wanted to get this for so long and I finally went and bought it when I had a coupon! It's a beautiful coral color with some gold shimmer to it. I love this because the shimmer isn't chunky or make you look like a disco ball, it just gives a nice sheen to your cheeks  Usually when I wear this blush I don't wear a highlight because I feel like this is enough. The blush does come with a brush, but I don't use it. Also, this blush smells amazing!! The only down side to this blush is the packaging. Although it looks cute, it's not great for traveling at all. This blush retails for $28 at Sephora

9. Jordana Fabuliner liquid eye liner in Black. This is the best black liquid eyeliner I have used. It is a felt tip applicator and it's really easy to apply. This is a very black liner that lasts all day on me with no flaking. And best of all it's about $2.99 at Walgreens!

10. Maybelline 24 hour Color Tattoo eyeshadow. The color pictured above is Barely Branded from the new Metal colors they just released. I own many different colors of these eyeshadows. A post will be coming soon of all the colors I have along with swatches and eye looks. These are cream eyeshadows that you can wear alone or as a base. I pretty much use one of these everyday as a base for my eyeshadows. I usually put a primer on first and then put one of these down as a base and then put my eyeshadows over the top. These things are comparable to the MAC paint pots. I own the MAC paint pot in Bare Study and it's pretty much a dupe for this Color Tattoo in Barely Branded and these are about 1/3 of the price. If you use these, your eyeshadows are not going anywhere. Again, I have not worn makeup for 24 hours but these will make your eye make up lasts for a really long time, especially if you are putting an eyeshadow over the top. I usually never wear them along but they are very pretty. The best way to apply these is with your finger. They retail for about $4-5 dollars at any drugstore. (I showed below the Barely Beige color as the Champagne color, this was Limited Edition, but the new Metal one called Barely Branded is pretty much the same thing)

11. Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. This stuff was introduced to me by my friend Lauren about 2 years ago and ever since I haven't been without it. This stuff makes your makeup stay on all day long. I have started to use this stuff almost everyday, but it's good for those days when you know your going to have a long day and you want to still look good at the end of it. This stuff does great in the summer on those hot days/nights. I ended up getting and have been using almost daily the De-Slick version of this which is for oily skin and absolutely love it! I find myself to be less shiny throughout the day when I use this.  I know it's a little more expensive, but I think this is worth it. Also, depending on how much you use it, it will last a long time. For a while, I was only using mine on special occasions or when I was just going to have a long day. You only spray about 2-4 sprays each time to cover your face. Right now on Urbandecay.com they have the De-Slick XL bottle on sale for $18. They have since re-packaged it which I think is why it's on sale. Otherwise you can find a 4oz bottle for $29 at Sephora or Ulta.

12. Benefit "That Gal" brightening face primer. I think this stuff is awesome, one of the best primers I've used all year. I've been using it for probably a year and only have a small trail size that I got in a kit with some other Benefit products. I use this under my foundations to make my skin smoother.  I'm not really sure about the brightening aspects, I don't really notice it. When I wear this primer my foundation stays and looks better longer. I only use a small amount of the pink product to cover my face. I mostly concentrate on my t-zone area. Full size of this product retails for $29. (See note below about kits)

If you are looking to try out some products for a specific brand I always suggest trying to find a kit that has multiple things in it, so you're not buying a full size of something your not sure you're going to like. Example the primer above I would probably not buy a full size of. I would buy a small kit that includes other Benefit products so I could try out other items. Here are examples of some kits you could buy that would include this face primer:  Sephora Benefit KitUlta Benefit $12 KitUlta Benefit $24 Kit. During the holiday's I purchased a kit from Ulta that includes another sample size of this primer, therefore not needing to purchase the full size yet.

Please let me know if you have any questions!!

Top 12 Products of 2012 - Part 1

Hey All  -

Since 2012 recently came to an end, I thought I would talk about my top 12 products I loved from 2012. This ended up being quite hard to narrow down but I did it. Most of the items I discovered in 2012 but there are a few that have been favorites for a while!

1. Stila In the Light eye shadow palette. I got this in April at IMATS in NY. After thinking about all of my eyeshadows I have this one stood out to me the most. I have been using this like made since I got it. The palette comes with 10 different eyeshadows and an eyeliner in Damsel. My favorite color from the palette is Kitten. I love putting Kitten all over the lid and mix Sandstone & Gilded Gold in the crease.  The eyeliner is great it's a really dark brown color that doesn't budge. You can find this at Ulta or Sephora and retails for $39.00.

**You can barely see Bare because it blends so well with my skin .

2. Hard Candy Baked Bronzer in Tiki. This is clearly not a bronzer in anyway, it's a highlighter. It gives the nicest glow to the top of your cheekbones or wherever you like to highlight your face. I've been using it non stop since I got it months ago.  Hard Candy products can be found at Walmart and this retails for $9.00

3. Loreal Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadows. I only have 1 shown in the picture above but the whole line of these things are amazing. I'm going to do a separate blog post on all of the colors I own with swatches and looks, so keep your eyes out for that. But my favorite color and the one pictured above is in bronzed taupe. These last a very long time on the lid, I obviously have not worn makeup for 24 hours so I have not tested their claim but they do last a long time. They do not crease but I still usually wear an eyeshadow primer underneath like I do with every eye look I do. These retail for about $7 at drugstores but prices vary.

4. Wet & Wild Brulee single eyeshadow. This is my holy grail highlight color for my brow bone. I use this pretty much everyday. It's a great matte cream color that goes with every eye look. It's great for making sure your crease color is all blended out. And for about $1.00 you can't beat it!!

5. NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in Sugar Pie. I really love all of the glosses I have from NYX in this line. I have multiple colors but Sugar Pie is the best nude lip gloss that I can put over any color lipstick to make it look shiny. I think these glosses smell and taste good, but I have heard others that don't like them. I think it's just a personal preference. These also last a long time on the lips and are not sticky. These can be found at Ulta or several different online stores. They retail for about $5.50 each.

6. Eve Pearl Dual Salmon Concealer & Treatment. I got this at NY IMATS back in April and love it! I've always heard good thing about this and wanted to try it. It's great for covering my dark under eye circles.I mix the two colors together and dab it under my eyes. I don't use it everyday but I do use quite often when my dark circles look really bad. I think it's a great under eye concealer.  You don't need to use a lot of product so I have a feeling I'll have this for a while still. I have it in Fair/Light. It is quite pricey but I think it works great.  It retails for $39 and can be found here.

Here are the first 6, the other 6 will be coming shortly! Let me know if you have any questions!!

Thank you so much for reading!!

Hellooooo 2013!!

Hey All -
Sooooo I'm backkkk!!!! I'm here to talk about some of the things I'm going to try to work on this year! Kinda like a New Years resolution but just things I need to be doing not only this year but many years to follow!
1) Blog more! This recently got neglected but I'm back and ready to be posting regularly again! I hope people actually enjoy reading this thing!
2) Find a better job!! This is something I've been talking about for a while. I've been at the same job for 5+ years and I'm ready for a change. It's time to find something new. Hopefully there will be some job openings here soon!
3) Work on my finances. Enough said!
4) Spend more time with friends and family. I think some of my family gets easily neglected and I would love to build better relationships with them! Also, spreading time out between all of my friends and hopefully making new ones.
5) To stop being afraid to do things!! If you think it sounds like fun, I'm going to do it!
6) To stop being so judgmental. This is going to be hard for me, but I need to have an open mind and heart.
8) Get back into my workout routine and eating habits!! This needs to happen!! Always looking for new ideas and/or partners!! Let me know if anyone is interested!
9) Become more open minded about dating and meeting guys. Ahhhh!
10) Work on becoming more positive all around! And surrounding myself with more positive people!
Some of these are very personal to me, so I hope people understand that. I hope that my friends & family will be willing to help me achieve some of these. I know that a lot of these are going to be hard work but I need a kick in the butt! It's time to grow up and figure it out!!
Hopefully you all will be along for the ride!!
Let me know if you have any questions!!  Hope everyone had a great holiday and good luck in the New Year!! :)
Thanks so much for reading!! I appreciate it so much!!
