Nature Box - May 2013

Hey All -

I'm here with what I got in my May Nature's box. I decided this would be my last box with them. Nature's box is a monthly subscription service that costs $19.99 a month for 5 bags of natural snacks. You can see what I got in Apri's box here. The theme for this month's box is Picnic Season. Here's what I got:

The first item I got was the BBQ Kettle Kernels. Serving size is 1/3 cup for 110 calories. There is 5 servings in the bag.

Taste Test: I like them!!! They are like corn nuts that have some bbq flavoring on them. They flavoring isn't over powering which I love. It's just a hint of bbq/spice. I can see myself snacking on these.

The second item I got in the box is the Cherry Ganache Granola. Serving size is 1/2 cup with 2 servings in the bag. 1 serving is 210 calories.

Taste Test: YUM!!!! This stuff is really good. It consists of oates, dried cherries, almonds and pecans. The only cherry flavor I can taste is the dried cherries otherwise the oats have a coca/chocolate taste. I like that it's more chunky that I could eat it out of the bag and not something I have to pour on something like yogurt to eat it. The flavor is quite delicious!
The next item I got was Peanut Butter Nom Noms which are mini peanut butter flavored oat cookies. Serving size is 1 piece and the bag consisting of 4 servings. I serving is 100 calories.

Taste Test:  Another YUM!!!! These are so good. The only bad thing is they are pretty small. I'm not sure you can see the exact size of them in the bag. But they are only about a 3x2 inch cookie (yes, I measured so you would kind of have an idea) and that's not big enough for 100 calories (in my opinion). But man these are good. They have a good peanut butter taste but you also get a taste of nuts in there. There is almonds and pumpkin seeds in them per the ingredient list. These are a really delicious treat. I would think you would be able to make something similar at home.

The fourth item I got in my box was Guacamole bites which are guacamole-flavored corn sticks. Serving size is 1/2 cup and the bag contains 5 servings. 1 serving is 140 calories.

Taste Test:  These are ok. I love guacamole that is fresh and I love corn chips, but I don't know about combining them in this sense. At first when you bite into it I taste more of a corn chip (frito) and then get the guacamole flavoring after I start chewing. They are ok. I did dip them in guacamole the other day and that tasted fine. I just wouldn't reach for these as a snack. (Ashley, I want you to try these!!)

The last item I got in my box was the Salsa Spiced Nut Mix. Serving size is 1/4 cup which is 160 calories. There are 4 servings in the bag.

Taste Test:  This stuff isn't bad. It definitely has a kick to it! For me anyways but I don't do good with spicy stuff so this might not be a problem for most people. The mix contains almonds, small corn chips and cashews covered in the seasoning. I really like the little corn chips they have in there. I just ate a few pieces and my mouth is on fire (but I'm such a light weight with spicy stuff). Hahaha It's a good mix but I'll probably find a better home for it!

They all say on the back:
*No High Fructose Corn Syrup
*No Partially Hydrogenated Oils
*No Artificial Sweeteners
*No Artificial Flavors
*No Artificial Colors
*0g Trans Fats

Overall, this month's box wasn't bad. I pretty much like everything I got in this box. But like I said at the beginning I am canceling my subscription. I just didn't love anything that much to continue it. However, when I did look on their website you can now pick the items you get in your box. So, if there was something you liked you could continue to re-order it. I also was not a fan of how to cancel my subscription. I had to call a number to be able to do that. I would have preferred to just cancel it online. Another thing I came to notice as even though these are natural snacks what you would get for the calories, I think is a little high. I don't usually count calories, even though I should I think that some of them are high for the serving size.

I'd love to know if you have signed up for the service and if you enjoyed it or not.

If you use the code REFER25 you can get 25% off your first box!!!

Thanks so much for reading!!

Unless this thing gets rid of all my problems on my skin, I would never pay that much for something like that!!  Also, I think I have gotten this in my box before - come on!! And it's a foil packet for something that costs so much you're giving me a sample in a foil packet ... really?? I hate foil packets of anything!!

Overall, this box was good! I'm most excited about the body wash, the blush and lip balm. I'm gonna give this expensive face cream a try to see what the hype is all about.
