January/February Favoriates

Hi All -

So I'm here with my combo January and February favorites. I didn't do one last month but I've pretty much been loving all these items the last 2 months.

The first item that I've been loving ever since I bought in January is the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. I was hearing great things about this and figured I would pick up a bottle. I got The Original which is heavily scented. At first I did not like the scent at all, but now that I've been using it for almost 2 months I don't even smell it anymore and it doesn't bother me.  I have been using this as a lip balm mostly but have used it on my face as well. It works great, when my nose was chapped from being sick I put this around it on the dry skin and it worked great. I have also been using it around my eyes in addition to my eye cream to help with hydration and I think it's doing a great job. If you are concerned about the scent they do offer a fragrance free option, but that was not available at the TJ Max that I purchased mine from.  1.7 oz bottle retails for $19.50 at Elizabeth Arden counters but you can find it at most TJ Max or Marshall's for about $7 or $8.  Click here to go to Elizabeth Arden website to read reviews and more things about it.

I finally caved and bought this new foundation after seeing so many great reviews on it. This foundation is great, it's very lightweight foundation but gives you a light/medium coverage that helps even out your skin tone and covering blemishes or redness. It also had a great wear time. If you are looking for a lighter foundation that will be great to wear in the spring/summer this would be it and I would suggest giving it a try. It feels so nice on your skin, it's not cakey at all. It looks like you aren't wearing anything, which is always a plus with foundation. I wear the color 130 shell. It retails for about $9.99 at most places but you can always find good deals at Walgreens/CVS or even Ulta. Also, there might be coupons in the newspaper. The powder that goes along with this, which I do own as well is also great, I use it to set this foundation. I would suggest it if you are looking for a new powder.

The next item I've been loving is the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara. I opened this after my last mascara started flaking on me. This gives me great volume and length to my lashes and I've really been enjoying it. I would recommend it. My only complaint about this tube is that the stopper doesn't clean off the brush enough so I have to wipe some of the product off on the side of the tube. This mascara retails for about $7.99 and can be found at any drugstore.

I've been loving these Essence XXXL shine lipglosses. These are absolutely amazing lip glosses and after I purchased 1 I went and purchased a couple of more. The color I have pictured above that I've been wearing a ton is called True Love. They are not sticky, moisturizing and stay a long time on the lips. They also smell like mambas, yes the candy, which I really like. These really are great glosses and would highly, highly recommend them. They retail for about $2.49 on Ulta's website. I have usually bought them with a coupon at Ulta but either way a great lipgloss for $2.50 - Sold!!

My next favorite is the Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Sick in Shanghai. The color is a deep raspberry color which I've been loving on my lips lately. This color goes on smoothly and lasts quite a bit. These are suppose to be plumping but I don't really notice a difference on my lips. I also don't think this is drying, there are a lot of lipsticks out there that dry out your lips and this is not one of them. I got this in a set with mascara the day after Thanksgiving at Sephora for $10 but this retails for $19.00. You can only purchase Buxom items at Sephora. Click here to go see the item on Sephora.com.

The next thing I've been loving and using almost everyday is the Jordana EasyLiner Lip pencil in Tawny. The color is nothing special by any means but I can put this down before using any lip combo and it makes it look good. I would say it's a "my lips but better" color for me. The liner is retractable, which is nice and also wears for a good amount of time as well.  I usually line and fill in my lips with this. Jordana products can be found at Walgreens and this retails for about $1.99.

Below is swatches of the 3 lip products I just mentioned:

The next item I've been wearing almost everyday since I got it is the Maybeline Dream Lumi touche highlighting concealer. I have it on the color Ivory. This is a great under eye concealer that also brightens. This retails for about $7.99 at drugstores. I've been pairing it with the next item I'm gonna talk about next.

This is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles. This one is in brightener and is a pink color. I put this under my eyes to brighten and correct my dark circles and it works great! I've been putting this down first in a triangle shape under my eyes and following it up with the Dream Lumi concealer over the top and I've been loving how it makes my under eyes bright. This also comes in concealer colors, which I also have in Light and also makes a great under eye combo. This retails for $8.99 at drugstores. If you were interested in trying out these products together, I would suggest going to Walgreens or someplace where they may have a buy one get one 50% deal.

The next item I've been loving is the L'Oreal True Match super blendable crayon concealer. I clearly like to take pictures where it tells you what it is in French and not English! But this concealer is great! The color I have is fair/light and works for me great. This concealer is very creamy and blendable as described in the title. I use this to cover blemishes or redness around my nose. It also lasts a long time once it's applied. I was very impressed with this concealer. I would actually compare them to the 24/7 concealer sticks from Urban Decay. These are a twist up style, so you don't have to sharpen them which is always nice. If you are in the market for a new concealer I would highly recommend trying one of these out. The color selection is also great. These retail for about $8.99 at any drugstore.

My last favorite is the Nivea Lip Butter in the Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss. I've been using this non-stop since I got it. These are new to Nivea, just released at the beginning of the year and come in 4 different flavors. 1 is unscented (I don't own), Caramel Cream Kiss, Rasberry Rose Kiss and the one pictured above. I really enjoy all of them but this is the one that currently lives in my purse and gets the most use. I was having an issue with my lips chapping and this has been helping a lot. Not only are they greatly moisturizing they smell amazing, all of them! If you can find these at your local drugstore (Walgreens or CVS) I would suggest picking one up. I've seen them priced from $4-5.

That pretty much sums up all the products I've been using and loving over the past 2 months! Let me know if you try any of the things I mentioned, would love to hear if you do! Also, tell me what your favorites are!!

Thank you so much for reading!! (Sorry folks, it was a long one)

- Jill
